TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Even though Rose-Hulman senior point guard Wade Stallings stands 5'6", his game on the court speaks much bigger. Stallings scored a career-high 24 points and guided the Fightin' Engineers to a 96-80 win over the Anderson Ravens Wednesday night in Hulbert Arena.
Stallings used his quickness all night to slip past numerous Anderson defenders. Stallings finished with 24 points on 9-11 shooting from the field. He knocked in two of his three three-point attempts. Stallings also found his teammates off of his penetration, dishing out a game-high five assists.
The Fightin' Engineers raced out to a halftime lead of 44-37 behind 61.5% (16-26) from the floor. RHIT was hot again from the floor in the second half posting 52 points in the second frame, shooting 57.1% (16-28) from the floor. For the game Rose-Hulman posted a field goal percentage of 59.3% (32-54).
Senior Collin Wojcik finished in double figures with 14 points in 23 minutes off of the bench. Luke Callahan also had a strong game off of the bench with 15 points, four rebounds, and two blocks. 12 out of the 16 Engineers that saw court time scored in the game.
The Fightin' Engineers scored 46 points in the paint and scored 21 points off of 18 Ravens' turnovers. RHIT's bench also added 48 points in the contest.
The win improved RHIT's record to 13-11, 11-6 HCAC. Anderson fell to 16-8, 13-4 HCAC. Rose-Hulman will round out the regular season at Defiance Saturday February 18 at 3 p.m.
