Men's Tennis Battles Before Falling to No. 8 Case

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Brandon Benedict earned singles and doubles victories, as the Fightin' Engineers showcased their skills despite a 7-2 loss to No. 8 ranked Case Western Reserve University on Friday night.

Benedict joined with Georges Adam to earn a victory at the No. 1 doubles position to give the Fightin' Engineers their first match point.  He then earned a three-set victory at the No. 2 singles to push Rose-Hulman's total to two points for the night.

Case Western Reserve marks the second highest team that Rose-Hulman has faced in men's tennis, after the Fightin' Engineers battled then No. 4 ranked Washington University last year.

Rose-Hulman stands 1-1 on the season and returns to action at Oglethorpe University on Feb. 25.
