TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Ally Bromenschenkel has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts in last week's pair of victories.
Bromenschenkel averaged 26.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game as Rose-Hulman defeated St. Mary-of-the-Woods 91-55 and Defiance 61-53 last week. She shot 64% from the field and 94% from the free-throw line in a week that included her first career 30-point game.
Bromenschenkel scored a career-high 31 points on 10-14 from the field and 11-12 from the free-throw line in the St. Mary-of-the-Woods victory. She recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds in that contest. Against Defiance, Bromenschenkel scored 22 points and added 12 rebounds in the conference opener.
The mechanical engineering major became the 10th player in Rose-Hulman women's basketball history to cross the 1,000-point mark in her career in a victory over No. 9 ranked DePauw earlier this season. She has career totals of 1,063 points, 583 rebounds, 92 steals and 88 blocks in 89 career starts.
Rose-Hulman stands 4-3 on the season and 1-0 in HCAC play entering Wednesday's 7 p.m. home matchup with Mount St. Joseph.
