NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind.-- The women's soccer team was able to come away with a big win on the road against the Manchester Spartans on Saturday, 10/20. The Engineers were able to defeat the Spartans 3-2 to improve to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the HCAC.
Jessica Wells was able to get to the net first for the Engineers in the 26th minute after an assist by Maddy Twetten. Rose-Hulman was able to increase their lead in the 38th minute with a goal from Maddie Sorensen after an assist from Sarah Shoemaker. The Engineers would hold a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Rose-Hulman was able to open the second half with a goal after Elle Vuotto was able to connect with Sarah Shoemaker for the goal in the 51st minute. The Spartans would make an effort to get back in the game with two late goals to make the score 3-2. The Engineers would hold on to win the match and improve their record to 10-6, 5-2 in the HCAC.
Goalie Katie Demert finished the match with one save and goalie Maria Wohlsdorf was also able to help with the defensive effort. The Engineers will host HCAC competitor Anderson University on Wednesday, 10/24 at 7:00 PM.
