ROSE-HULMAN STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MISSION STATEMENT
The Rose-Hulman Student Athlete Advisory Committee has been formed to promote communication between student-athletes, the general student body and athletic department, as well as community service organizations throughout the Wabash Valley. The SAAC promotes good sportsmanship among Rose-Hulman’s fan base and improves the overall atmosphere at our athletic events. The SAAC also fosters the entire student experience, ensuring that both academic and athletic concerns are met on a daily basis.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Each sport at Rose-Hulman will elect one student-athlete to serve on the SAAC committee for the athletic department. Sophomores or juniors are preferred to ensure continuity within the organization. They will meet a minimum of once per quarter to discuss athletics, address campus concerns with the athletic programs (including facilities, missed class time, travel) and formulate a plan for annual community service projects in the Wabash Valley. Committee members will take every opportunity to interact with student-athletes from other Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference institutions. SAAC members will be encouraged to become involved on a national level with the NCAA, including clinics, camps, conventions and rule changes.
