Rose-Hulman Sportsmanship: Be a Good Sport!

Rose-Hulman Sportsmanship Statement

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology student-athletes and fans are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner, with regards to both competition and sportsmanship.

Rose-Hulman student-athletes must abide by the institutional Code of Conduct during athletic events and academic endeavors.  The student-athletie best exhibiting this Code of Conduct will be honoerd with a spot on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference 

Rose-Hulman fans are also expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.  The following statement will be read on the public address system and be printed in the game program at home contests:

"Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and the NCAA promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators.  We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial, or sexist comments, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition.  The consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited during athletic contests."

As part of the Rose-Hulman sportsmanship policy, the athletic department declares one winner of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference "Sportsmanship Team" award for each varsity team during each season.  Coaches choose the student-athlete that best embodies our sportsmanship statement to be a member of this conference-wide team.  The honorees are listed in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference all-league team release in each sport.
