Rose-Hulman Baseball Earns 3rd Straight ABCA Academic Team Award

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team earned the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for its efforts in the classroom during the 2018 season.

ABCA Academic Team Award winners must carry a combined team grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year.  Rose-Hulman is one of just 25 colleges and universities in NCAA Division III to earn ABCA Team Academic Award honors during all three years of the program's existence.  A total of 78 NCAA Division III teams earned the award for the 2018 season.  Previous years included 61 NCAA Division III award winners in 2016-17 and 36 in 2015-16.

On the field, Rose-Hulman advanced to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament for the fifth consecutive year.  The Fightin' Engineers won 20 games overall and finished 10-7 in HCAC play to secure a bid to the postseason.

Rose-Hulman opens the 2019 baseball season with its annual Florida trip starting Feb. 25.
