Rose-Hulman Baseball Faces Capital on Day 3 of Florida Trip

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology squares off with Capital University in day three of its annual Florida Spring Trip on Wednesday at the Lake Myrtle Complex (Field 5) in Auburndale, Florida.


Rose-Hulman (2-0, 0-0 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman stands 2-0 after defeating Alma 1-0 on Monday and Saint Mary's (Minn.) 18-14 on Tuesday.
  • Luke Buehler, a first-team all-HCAC and ABCA All-Region pitcher last season, struck out nine and allowed just two hits in his 2019 debut on Monday.
  • Rose-Hulman pounded out 21 hits in their Monday win over Saint Mary's (Minn.), highlighted by a 10-run fourth inning.
  • Conner Shipley and Davis Robeson had four hits each for Rose-Hulman; Harris Camp and Conner Helbling added three singles each, and Ryan Stachowski had three doubles.
  • Rose-Hulman was picked to finish third in the HCAC this season, in the preseason coaches poll.
  • The Fightin' Engineers return eight of their nine starters, the top three starting pitchers and several pitchers from the 2018 team that finished 20-23 and qualified for the HCAC Tournament.
  • After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman will face Cabrini on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Auburndale.

  • Capital seeks its first win in Florida after narrow losses of 2-1 to Alma and 4-1 to Lyndon State on Sunday and Monday.
