BULLETIN: Senior Day Baseball Doubleheader Starts at 10 AM Saturday
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- UPDATE!  The doubleheader with Bluffton will begin at 10 am.  Senior Day festitivites will be held between games of Saturday's doubleheader.
 
SATURDAY'S GAMES:

SENIOR DAY:
* Rose-Hulman will honor nine members of the baseball program prior to Saturday's doubleheader.
* Stone Brogan has appeared in 47 career games with a 4-1 record, a 5.67 ERA and 2 saves.  The mechanical engineering major has struck out 43 batters in 54 innings of work.
* David Burnside is a two-time all-conference honoree and earned ABCA All-Region honors in 2017.  The mechanical engineering major has a .333 career batting average with 170 career hits, 50 doubles, 10 home runs, 126 runs scored and 98 RBIs in 142 games.
* Sean Casey has appeared in 72 career games with a .276 batting average on 50 hits.  The mechanical and biomedical engineering major has scored 32 career runs with 8 doubles, 3 triples and 4 home runs.
* Dan Connolly has appeared in 29 career games with a 1-1 record, a 4.65 ERA and 2 saves.  The mechanical engineering major has 31 strikeouts and has allowed just 28 hits in 31 innings of work.
* Trevor Dallio has made 10 starts and appeared in 26 games on the mound for Rose-Hulman.  The mechanical engineering major has a 4.41 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 63.1 innings of work, including a 3.82 ERA this season.
* Conner Helbling earned honorable mention all-HCAC honors in 2018 and has a .333 career batting average.  The biomedical engineering major has 66 career hits, 12 doubles and 2 home runs as a two-year starter.
* Davis Robeson is a three-year starter in the Rose-Hulman outfield with a .304 batting average, 19 doubles and 5 triples.  The mechanical engineering major has 130 career hits, 76 runs scored and 52 RBIs.
* Conner Shipley earned first-team all-HCAC honors in 2017 and is a three-year starter.  The civil engineering major has a .329 career batting average with 150 hits, 88 runs scored, 14 doubles and 53 RBIs.
* Casey Garner played in a reserve role for three seasons and serves as a student assistant coach in 2019.  The mechanical engineering major made five varsity appearances and is one of Rose-Hulman's top academic graduates this May.
 
Rose-Hulman (20-9, 9-1 HCAC) News & Notes:
  • Rose-Hulman stands 20-9 overall and leads the HCAC at 9-1 in conference play.  After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman travels to Wittenberg University for a doubleheader on Sunday.
  • Luke Buehler is a three-time HCAC Pitcher of the Week and one-time D3baseball.com National Team of the Week honoree in 2019.  Buehler is currently 6-0 with a 1.05 earned run average, including 43 strikeouts in 43 innings of work.
  • The team's four primary starting pitchers have also included Trevor Dallio (1-2, 3.82 ERA, 32 K, 30.2 IP), Trever Bruno (1-2, 4.20, 12 K, 30 IP) and Clayton Mayfield (4-1, 5.06, 33 K, 42.2 IP)
  • Rose-Hulman's bullpen features six pitchers with at least one save, led by freshman Brian Pershing with five saves and freshman Adam Taylor with two.
  • Brian Pershing and Zach Witonsky have made the most of their playing time with batting averages of .459 and .450, respectively, this season.
  • Starters hitting above .300 include Davis Robeson (.361, 5 2B); Conner Helbling (.352, 6 2B, 1 HR); Ryan Stachowski (.337, 9 2B, 2 3B); Harris Camp (.333, 3 2B, 1 3B); Luke Kluemper (.322, 1 2B); Luke Calabrese (.317, 2 2B, 1 3B); David Burnside (.316, 9 2B, 1 HR); and Conner Shipley (.303, 4 2B)
  • Rose-Hulman has won four HCAC Tournament titles, two regular season HCAC championships and made two appearances in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship Round since 2009. 

Bluffton (17-17, 6-7 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Bluffton entered the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Manchester with a 17-17 record and a 6-7 mark in league play.
  • Bluffton has split four doubleheaders this season and has a twinbill sweep over Mount St. Joseph.
  • After Saturday's action, Bluffton closes the 2019 regular season at Transylvania on Saturday May 4.
