TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Franklin College will compete for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament championship on Sunday at Art Nehf Field.
Franklin needs one victory to claim its second consecutive HCAC Tournament championship and its second straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Rose-Hulman needs to win twice over the Grizzlies on Sunday to earn its first NCAA Division III Tournament bid since 2016.
Game one will take place at 10 a.m., with the if necessary second game taking place 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.
The Fightin' Engineers enter Saturday's action with a 27-11 record. Rose-Hulman defeated Defiance 6-4, lost to Franklin 7-2, then defeated Defiance 6-3 in its first three HCAC Tournament contests.
Franklin has a 27-13 overall record and has wins by margins of 6-4 over Anderson and 7-2 over Rose-Hulman so far in this year's tournament.
