TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior pitcher Luke Buehler has earned second-team All-Mideast Region honors from both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association all-region teams released in May.
Buehler was named second-team in both the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Team and in the D3baseball.com All-Region Team.
Buehler compiled a 7-1 record and an HCAC leading 1.88 earned run average this season. He was also the ace of a staff that led the HCAC in earned run average.
He finished with an ERA under 2.00 for the second consecutive seasons, highlighted by 57 strikeouts in 62.1 innings of work. In one stretch of HCAC action, he allowed just 1 run in 22.2 innings of work to earn wins over Transylvania, Defiance and Bluffton.
The junior left-hander earned first-team all-HCAC honors for the second consecutive year and ranks third in Rose-Hulman history with a 2.31 ERA.
Rose-Hulman won the HCAC regular season championship with a 14-2 league record and hosted the HCAC Tournament earlier this month, finishing second to Franklin College. The 27-12 Fightin' Engineers also reached the 20-win plateau for the 26th time in 30 seasons under head coach Jeff Jenkins.
