Rose-Hulman Football Travels to #8 Saint John's (Minn.) on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman and Saint Johns meet in a non-conference NCAA Division III football matchup on Saturday at 1 pm CT.

Rose-Hulman reached the de-facto HCAC Championship Game before falling to Hanover 42-13 last week.  The Fightin' Engineers clinched their ninth consecutive season at .500 or above under head coach Jeff Sokol earlier this month.

Saint John's is ranked No. 8 nationally by and has already secured a bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Playoffs.  The Johnnies have been ranked as high as No. 3 in the poll this season.

* Rose-Hulman closes the careers of 16 seniors in Saturday's matchup at Saint John's.  Seniors include Bryce Dobbs, Jalen Gutierrez, Caden Hellyer, Jack Heyl, Colby Horne, Kevin Kling, Eric Mitalo, Eric Morris, Alex Perez, Zach Phillips, Matt Robinson, Jake Schroeder, Jonathan Sutterer, Zach Thelen, Corey Vincent and Garrett Wight.
* Wight ranks 4th in school history with 33 career touchdown rushes. Wight has 2,670 career rushing yards and is just 72 yards shy of moving into Rose-Hulman's career top five..
* Noah Thomas ranks 4th in school history in career receptions (173), 4th in touchdown catches (23) and 5th in receiving yards (2,281) entering this week's game. 
* Thomas has also set a new single-season school record for receiving yards with 967 in 2019.
* Andrew Dion ranks 2nd in school history in career touchdown passes (52) and is 5th all-time in passing yards (5,590).
* The Rose-Hulman defense set school records by allowing just 39 yards of total offense and -90 rushing yards in the win over Defiance.
* Rose-Hulman is No. 3 in NCAA Division III in fewest sacks allowed (0.44 per game) and is also No. 3 in NCAA Division III in most sacks by the defense (4.22 per game).

* Saint John's is one of the proudest programs in NCAA Division III football, highlighted by four national championships. 
* The winningest coach in NCAA Division III history was long-time head coach John Gagliardi, who compiled a record of 489-138-11 in 59 seasons at the helm from 1953-2012.
* Saint John's has clinched its sixth NCAA Division III Playoff Appearance in the seven-year coaching era of Gary Fasching.  The playoffs begin Nov. 23 for the Johnnies.
* Senior quarterback Jackson Erdmann was a consensus Preseason All-American this season (, Lindy's, Street & Smith's).  Erdmann threw for a season-high 496 yards and four touchdowns in a win over St. Olaf in October.
