TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior guard Craig McGee has been named an Men's Basketball Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by DIII News, in a team publicized on Wednesday.
McGee was named the D3hoops.com Great Lakes Region Rookie of the Year in 2018 and was also the HCAC Freshman of the Year. The two-year starter has been named first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2018 and 2019, and the Fightin' Engineers have a 34-19 record (27-9 HCAC) in his playing career.
McGee was a member of the 2018 HCAC regular season championship team that hosted the HCAC Tournament. He has career totals of 700 points and 281 rebounds, and already ranks 12th in school history wtih 280 career assists. McGee led the Fightin' Engineers in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals as a freshman in 2018.
Last season, McGee averaged 12.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Rose-Hulman finished 17-9 last season, including 13-5 in HCAC play.
The Fightin' Engineers open the 2019-20 season at home on Tuesday Nov. 12 against Oakland City University.
