TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman men's soccer found themselves in a highly contested match with Wabash College on Wednesday night. The game was sent into overtime after being tied 1-1, and ultimately ended in a draw. This puts the Engineers at 1-2-1 on the season.
The match was a very even contest as Wabash only outshot the Engineers 12-11. Both teams were able to play great defensively to limit scoring opportunities for their opponents. The Little Giants were able to strike first in the eighth minute of the first half to take the lead 1-0. This would be the score at the end of the half.
Rose-Hulman was able to fight back in the second period to knot the score at 1-1. Michel Farhat was able to score for the Engineers after an assist from Travis Bednarek in the 58th minute. At the end of regulation the score was tied 1-1 to force overtime. Neither team was able to take the advantage in both overtime periods which led to the match ending in a draw.
Goalie Pascal Schlee finished the game with 5 saves after 6 shots on goal. This tie puts the Engineers at 1-2-1 as they look forward to traveling to Decatur, Ill. to face Millikin University on Saturday night, 9/15 at 7:00 PM CT, 8:00 PM ET.
