TERRE HAUTE Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer came up short in a tough 3-2 overtime battle against the DePauw Tigers on Wednesday night. This drops the Engineers to 2-3-1 on the season.
The Tigers were able come out aggressive with a goal in the first minute of play to take an early lead. The Engineers were able to answer in the 26th minute with a goal from Michel Farhat after an assist from Eric Kirby and Wyatt McKibbon. Rose-Hulman would add another score in the 39th minute after an assist from Kirby led to a goal from Will McGowen. This gave the Fightin' Engineers the lead 2-1 going into halftime.
In the second half, DePauw was able to get to the net for the tying goal in the 77th minute. This forced the game into overtime with the score tied 2-2. The Tigers were able to end the game with the go ahead goal in the 100th minute to defeat the Engineers.
Goalie Pascal Schlee ended the night with four saves after seven shots on goal. This drops the Engineers to 2-3-1 as they look forward to host Ohio Northern University this Saturday, 9/22 at 5:00 PM.
