TERRE HAUTE Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer was able to come away with a win over HCAC competitor Franklin College on Wednesday, October 17. This improves the Engineers to 8-5-1 overall and 5-1 in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman was able to control the ball early. They outshot the Grizzlies 8-2 in the first half. Michael Simmons was able to give the Engineers the lead in the 27th minute after an impressive goal that was shot from mid field. The score would stand at 1-0 at the end of the first half.
The second half was well fought by both teams. The Engineers were able to end the match outshooting the Grizzlies 12-4. They would finish the game ahead with a final score of 1-0.
Goalie Pascal Schlee ended the night with 3 saves after 3 shots on goal. This puts the Engineers at 8-5-1 and 5-1 in the HCAC as they continue conference competition traveling to face Manchester University Saturday, 10/20 at 3:30 PM.
