TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer has finalized its schedule for the 2019 season. The schedule consists of 10 home matches with five HCAC home competitions against league rivals.
Rose-Hulman was able to finish the 2018 season with an overall record of 9-6-3 and a conference record of 6-2-1, and reached the HCAC Tournament semifinals before falling in penalty kicks at Transylvania.
The Engineers kick off their 2019 schedule hosting North Central (Ill.) on Friday, August 30th. The Engineers will then look to take on a variety of Division III opponents in the month of September with four home matches. The team will then look to face their HCAC league opponents in the month of October.
The Engineers are excited to welcome in a large freshman class for the 2019 season. Fifteen new freshman will be added to the 31-player Engineers roster, which includes four returning all-conference players.
The Engineers will also return six starters from last year's team. These returnees include 1st team ALL-HCAC junior defender Ethan Butler. Butler has become a distinct presence on the defensive side of the pitch for the Engineers. The team will look to his leadership on the defensive end to maintain one of the strongest defenses in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman will also bring back 2nd team ALL-HCAC honorees defender Wyatt McKibbon, goalkeeper Pascal Schlee, and defender Ryan Tarr. McKibbon had six assists; Schlee recorded 56 saves, .84 GAA, and .778 save percentage; and Tarr scored four goals last season.
