Men's Soccer Improves to  5-0 For First Time in Program History

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's soccer team was able to put together two late goals to defeat the Millikin Big Blue on Saturday night.  This win extends the Engineers winning streak and puts them at 5-0 overall so far this season.  This is the first 5-0 start to the season in program history.

The first half was a defensive battle between the two teams.  Both teams had their opportunities at the net, but the contest remained scoreless heading into halftime.  Millikin outshot the Engineers 5-4 in the first half.  

The second half continued to prove to be a competitive contest.  Millikin was able to get to the net in the 74th minute to take a 1-0 lead over the Engineers.  The Engineers were able to answer with a goal of their own in the 79th minute after George Bulger was able to connect with Travis Bednarek for the goal.  This tied the score 1-1 with only 10 minutes remaining in the match.  

The Engineers were able to get the winning goal after an assist from Eric Kirby and AJ Yilmaz set up an outstanding header from Ryan Tarr in the 81st minute.  Rose-Hulman was able to defeat the Millikin Big Blue with a final score of 2-1. 

Goalie Pascal Schlee had a great performance for the Engineers with 7 saves on the night.  This win gives the Engineers their first 5-0 start in program history.  The team will compete next on the road against the DePauw Tigers on Wednesday,  9/18.  The match is set to start at 7:00 PM.
