TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Travis Bednarek has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in two Fightin' Engineer wins last week.
Bednarek scored the first goal in each match, as Rose-Hulman defeated Wabash 2-0 and knocked off Millikin 2-1 last week. His goal in the 11th minute put the Engineers ahead for good at Wabash. His second half goal against Millikin knotted the game at 1-1, setting the stage for the team's comeback win.
Bednarek has scored nine goals with 20 points in his Rose-Hulman career, including three game-winning goals. He has two goals and four points this season.
Rose-Hulman stands 5-0 for the first time in program history heading into Wednesday's game at in-state rival DePauw. The Fightin' Engineers have allowed just two total goals in their five games, outscoring the opposition 8-2.
