Men's Soccer Narrowly Falls in Double OT at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- DePauw University knocked Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from the unbeaten ranks with a 2-1 double overtime victory on Wednesday night in Greencastle.

DePauw took a 1-0 lead on a score by Grady Bruch in the 60th minute.  Rose-Hulman's Andy June knotted the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 62nd minute.  The two teams battled back and forth, before DePauw was awarded a penalty kick two minutes into the second overtime.  Jay Klein put the penalty kick home to give DePauw the win.

June's goal was set up by passes from Luke McCullough and AJ Yilmaz.

The tightly contested matchup ended with Rose-Hulman holding a narrow 12-11 shots advantage.  Both teams had four shots in the first half and one in overtime.  Rose-Hulman narrowly outshot the Tigers 7-6 in the second half of regulation.

June led the Rose-Hulman offense with six shots, and Caleb Urban had three shots.  Dylan Ruzbasan had five saves for Tigers, and Pascal Schlee recorded four saves in net for the Fightin' Engineers.

Rose-Hulman and DePauw leave the contest with identical 5-1 records.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action at Ohio Northern University on Saturday night.
