BLUFFTON, Ohio-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer picked up a win on the road against the Beavers of Bluffton University with a final score of 2-0. This improves the team to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the HCAC this season.
The start of the match proved to be a highly defensive contest. Each team was held scoreless heading into halftime with the Engineers outshooting the Beavers 12-4 in the first half.
Ryan Tarr was able to get Rose-Hulman on the board after an assist from Eric Kirby in the 65th minute. This gave the Engineers the 1-0 lead over Bluffton. Kirby was able to score a goal of his own in the 73rd minute to lock up the win for Rose-Hulman.
Rose-Hulman outshot the Beavers 25-7 in the match and came away with the win with a final score of 2-0.
Goalie Pascal Schlee recorded four saves on the night as the Engineers defense was able to record their sixth shutout of the season.
The team will continue their HCAC schedule hosting Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, 10/9 at 7:30 PM.
