Men's Tennis Narrowly Falls to Wabash

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Wabash College battled for more than four hours in tightly contested men's tennis action, before the Little Giants picked up a 6-3 win at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center on Wednesday.

Rose-Hulman won at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles flights to open the match and remain within contention.  Ian Landwehr captured a 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles, while Cam Metzger won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 2 singles flight.

All three doubles matches ended with identical 8-6 scores, with Wabash securing the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.  Landwehr and Austin Perry picked up Rose-Hulman's win at No. 2.

Rose-Hulman stands 8-7 overall and 8-2 against NCAA Division III competition, while Wabash improved to 9-8.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Transylvania on Saturday at noon.
