Men's Tennis Falls to #18 Case in Opener; Returns to Action Sunday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opened the 2019 men's tennis season with a 9-0 loss to No. 18 ranked Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon at the Wabash Valley Tennis Club.

Two Fightin' Engineers battled Case Western Reserve into extended work in the first set before narrowly falling to highlight the effort.  Ian Landwehr dropped a narrow 7-5, 6-3 decision at No. 1, and Austin Perry battled to a 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 loss at the No. 3 flight.

Case Western Reserve improved to 3-0 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-1.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with a matchup against No. 9 ranked Washington (Mo.) at the Wabash Valley Tennis Club.
