TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology earned a fifth straight trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament this past season with a successful overall record of 14-10. The Fightin' Engineers, as well as junior Ian Landwehr, earned spots in the final ITA rankings of the season that were released earlier this week. Rose-Hulman came in No. 17 in the ITA Central Region as a team. Landwehr was placed at No. 13 in the national singles rankings.
As a team, RHIT posted a 14-10 overall record and went a perfect 6-0 against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has won five straight HCAC titles and the Fightin' Engineers have won 47 straight matches against HCAC teams.
Landwehr had an outstanding year with the Engineers in his junior season. He came in No. 13 in the ITA national singles rankings that were released earlier this week. Landwehr's national ranking is the highest-ever singles ranking in program history. Landwehr was able to finish the season with an overall singles record of 18-4 and 17-3 in dual matches. He was also named to the first team All-HCAC and received the most valuable player award this season. He was also named the HCAC Tournament MVP for his performance in the HCAC men's tennis championships. Ian is a mechanical engineering major from Daleville, Indiana.
