Men's Cross Country Picked as Unanimous HCAC Favorites

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's cross country team has been picked as the unanimous favorite to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship this season, in a preseason league coaches poll released on Tuesday.

Rose-Hulman received all 10 first-place votes in the preseason coaches poll after winning its third HCAC championship in the last four years in 2017.  The Fightin' Engineers won the conference title in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

This year's team returns 2017 all-conference honorees Kennedy Schnieders and Matthew Stevenot, along with three honorable mention all-league award winners.  The roster includes athletes coming to Rose-Hulman from nine different states.

Rose-Hulman begins the 2018 men's cross country season at the John McNichols Invitational, hosted by Indiana State at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course on Sept. 15.
