Softball Closes Spring Trip with Friday Doubleheader

CLERMONT, Fla.  – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology takes a 2-4 record into the final day of its annual Florida Spring Trip, set for Friday.  The Fightin' Engineers face Augustana (Ill.) at 11:30 a.m. and later square off with Eastern Nazarene at 1:45 p.m.


Rose-Hulman (2-4, 0-0 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman stands 2-4 on its Spring Trip with wins over Northern Vermont-Johnson on Monday and Cabrini on Wednesday.
  • Hannah Bach leads the offense with a .429 batting average on six hits, two runs scored and two doubles this season.
  • Bryly Shipman (.357, 1 2B) and Emily Struble (.313, 1 2B) are also hitting over .300 on the Engineer spring trip.
  • In the pitching circle, Alexis Price has picked up one win with three strikeouts in 10.1 innings.  Emily Struble has struck out nine hitters in 19.1 innings.

The Opposition

  • Augustana (Ill.) enters Friday's action with a 5-1 record.  The Vikings have won four straight games entering Friday's matchups with Johnson & Wales and Rose-Hulman.
  • Eastern Nazarene opens the 2019 season against Rose-Hulman on Friday.  The Lions were 28-12 last season.
