Men's Swimming Comes Up Short Against the Little Giants

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming team was able to win six events in a competitive home meet against Wabash College on Saturday.  Wabash was able to come away with the victory with a final meet score of 156-144.  

Individual winners for Rose-Hulman included Bryce Snaguski with a time of 2:01.96 in the 200 yard butterfly, Dutch Kipp with a time of 21.50 in the 50 yard freestyle, and Sean Gish with a 48.68 finish in the 100 yard freestyle.  Other winners included Ethan Park recording a time of 2:10.58 in the 200 yard breaststroke and Brendan King with a 4:54.06 finish in the 500 yard freestyle.  

The Rose-Hulman 400 yard freestyle relay team of Kipp, Jared Brown, Brendan King, and Gish were able to help the team with a win finishing with a time of 3:12.90.  The 200 yard medley team of Park, Nick Samra, Bryce Sanguski, and Kipp were able to pick up a second place finish with a time of 1:38.19.

Other runner-up finishers included Park in the 100-breaststroke (59.91); Nicholas Jeronis in the 200-butterfly (2:04.20); Brown in the 50-freestyle (22.26) and 100-freestyle (48.98); Kipp in the 200-backstroke (1:59.74); Snaguski in the 100-butterfly (54.02); and Park in the 200-IM (2:01.11). 

In diving competition, Peter Venema was able to come away with two second place finishes in 1 meter diving (228.61) and 3 meter diving (205.8).   Ben Strate was able to pick up a third place finish in the 1 meter competition (206.25), while Joshua Schnipke finished third in the 3 meter diving (188.02). 

The Engineers men's and women's team will host HCAC competitor Anderson University on Friday, 11/9 at 7:00 PM.
