ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined to win 19 events in a dual meet at Anderson University on Friday night.
The Fightin' Engineer men picked up a 163-81 victory in the team scoring, while Anderson won the women's team scoring by a 183-85 count.
Rose-Hulman swept all 14 men's events in the meet. Dutch Kipp led the performance with three individual wins, capturing top honors in the 100-backstroke (56.54), 200-backstroke (2:03.40) and 200-individual medley (2:01.61).
Double individual event winners for the Rose-Hulman men included Jared Brown in the 50-freestyle (22.08) and 100-butterfly (53.95); Shamus Sparling in the 500-freestyle (5:09.50) and 1000-freestyle (10:44.60); and Zachary Tate in the 100-freestyle (50.00) and 200-freestyle (1:57.79).
On the women's side, Natalija Pumpurs and Elisa Weber tied for one event victory and both swimmers won an additional event. The duo shared the top time in the 200-freestyle (2:06.44). Pumpurs also won the 200-backstroke (2:21.25) and Weber claimed the 200-breast (2:38.84).
Rose-Hulman also swept both men's relay events, winning the 200-freestyle in 1:30.80 and the 200-medley in 1:38.77. The 200-medley relay included Kemp, Park, Derick Miller and Kipp. The 200-freestyle relay team included King, Hayden Walter, Alex Ketcham and Ryan Nikolic.
Rose-Hulman returns to action in a three-team meet featuring Bethel and Olivet Nazarene on Nov. 22.
