Men's Track & Field No. 4 in Great Lakes Heading Into Engineer Invite




TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology concludes its "Friday Night Spikes" series of indoor track and field meets with the Engineer Invitational on Jan. 26 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

* The Engineer Invitational will double as Senior Night for the Rose-Hulman track and field program.  23 seniors will be honored in a pre-meet ceremony starting at 5:15 p.m.
* Rose-Hulman is ranked No. 4 in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region heading into this weekend's meet.  Mount Union is ranked first, followed by Calvin, Trine and Rose-Hulman
* The Fightin' Engineers swept both the men's and women's team titles at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invitational last weekend
* Jaclyn Setina is the reigning HCAC Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts in winning the high jump last Friday night
* Rose-Hulman has the HCAC's top ranked performance so far this season in six women's events and 10 men's events
* NCAA D-III top 25 performers from Rose-Hulman this season included Jaclyn Setina (#7 high jump); Nick Palmer (#14 pole vault); Josh Hennig (#18 400); and Lauren London (#25 long jump)
* Rose-Hulman was picked as the favorite to sweep the HCAC Men's & Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships this season, in the preseason league coaches polls
* Rose-Hulman enters the 2018 season with 17 consecutive HCAC Men's Track and Field Championships (10 outdoor, 7 indoor) dating back to 2008

The Competition:
* Team competing in the Engineer Invitational include: Bellarmine, Brescia, Franklin, Kentucky Wesleyan, Millikin, Thomas More, Transylvania, Wabash

Upcoming Action:
* After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman hits the road for the Illinois Wesleyan Keck Select Meet on Saturday Feb. 3.
