TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Eric Fiacable has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the DePauw University Invitational on Saturday.

Fiacable earned his third HCAC Field Athlete of the Week award this year, and the Fightin' Engineers completed a sweep of all five Men's Field Athlete of the Week awards for the 2019 indoor season.

Fiacable set a new Rose-Hulman school record to win the weight throw with a toss of 58' 10".  He also won the shot put competition at DePauw with a mark of 48' 10".

On the season, Fiacable has set the Rose-Hulman weight throw record on multiple occasions.  He earned All-American honors with a 4th place hammer throw finish at the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships, and was the 2018 HCAC Men's Outdoor Most Valuable Field Events honoree.

Rose-Hulman will seek its 9th straight HCAC men's indoor championship this weekend, when the Fightin' Engineers travel to Defiance College on Saturday for the league indoor meet.
