Women's Basketball Gets Big Road Win Over Mount St. Joseph

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's basketball team was able to get a dominate win on the road over the Lions of Mount St. Joseph University with a final score of 72-33.  This win improves the Engineers to 13-5 overall and 10-1 in the HCAC. 

Ally Bromenschenkel was the team's leading scorer recording a double-double finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Abby Bromenschenkel was able to record 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists.  Taylor Graham was also able to make an impact with 11 points coming off the bench.  

Other contributors included Debie Gedeon with 9 points and Morgan Brown with 8 points.  

The game started as an even matchup between both teams.  Rose-Hulman stood ahead with the score at 18-17 at the end of the first quarter.  The Engineers would put together an outstanding second quarter to outscore the Lions 19-6.  They would stand ahead of the Lions 37-23 as the game headed to halftime.  Ally Bromenschenkel led the team with 13 points and 7 rebounds in the first half.  

The Engineers would continue to control the game in the second half.  They led the Lions 56-27 at the end of the third quarter of play.  They would ultimately finish the game with the win over Mount St. Joseph with a final score of 72-33.  

The team was able to finish the game with a 43-27 rebounding advantage over the Lions. Defensively they were able to hold the Lions to just 25 percent shooting in the game compared to the Engineers 48.3 percent.

The Engineers stand at 13-5 overall and 10-1 in the HCAC and are tied for first in the conference with Transylvania University.  Rose-Hulman will return to action on Saturday, 1/26 as they hit the road to take on Transylvania University in a battle for control of the conference.
