Women's Golf Ready for HCAC Championship This Weekend


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will compete in the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Liberty Country Club.  

36 holes at Liberty Country Club in Liberty, Ind.
* 18 holes Saturday. 
* 18 holes Sunday.

* The HCAC team champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas, from May 14-17.  The top 10 individual finishers will earn all-HCAC recognition.
* Rose-Hulman has received votes in the WGCA Top 25 poll for the first time in program history.
* The honor came after Rose-Hulman won the HCAC Preview in a tiebreaker over defending league champion Transylvania on Sept. 29-30.
* In addition to winning the HCAC Preview, Rose-Hulman also set four school records at Illinois Wesleyan for the program's best ever finish at that tournament.
* Two of the four records at Illinois Wesleyan were set by Rachel Zhang, who earned HCAC Player of the Week honors after rounds of 72 and 78.
* Rebecca Su is the current HCAC Player of the Week after recording a fifth-place finish at the Wittenberg Invitational last weekend.
* The team's top five scoring averages are separated by under four strokes per round.  Top scorers include Namuunaa Nadmid (78.13); Rachel Zhang (80.25); Rebecca Su (80.63); Caitlin Coverstone (81.00); and Lauren Conley (81.88).
