BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology came home 6th at the 17-team Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, led by a hole-in-one and an top 10 individual finisher.
The Fightin' Engineers came home third behind five nationally ranked programs in the event. Wisconsin-Whitewater won with a two-day score of 607, followed by Illinois Wesleyan (609), DePauw (630), Carthage (640), Grinnell (647) and Rose-Hulman (648). Augustana, Dubuque, Hanover and Central rounded out the top 10.
Individually, Namuunaa Nadmid led Rose-Hulman with a seventh place finish. Nadmid completed rounds of 78 and 76 to finish in the top 10 in the 91-player event.
Lauren Conley carded the fourth hole-in-one in Rose-Hulman women's golf history as part of a 28th place individual finish. Conley aced the 130-yard 8th hole on Saturday as part of two identical rounds of 82.
Caitlin Coverstone tied Conley for 28th place with matching rounds of 82 and 82. Rachel Zhang recorded scores of 79 and 87. Lily Byrne (84 and 90) and Olivia Sexton (94 and 95) rounded out the Fightin' Engineer performance at the event.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Preview at Bluffton Golf Course next Saturday and Sunday.
