TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team had a dominant performance against Principia, finishing the match with a score of 6-0. This improves the Engineers to 2-0 with their second shutout of the season.
Jessica Wells was able to strike first in the 12th minute after an assist from Elle Ogden. Ogden was able to add on a goal herself just a minute later to put the Engineers up 2-0. Maggie Sheerin was able to put a shot in the back of the net after an assist from Wells at the end of the half to build the lead to 3-0 going into halftime.
The Engineers played outstanding defense to only allow the Panthers two shots the entire match. The second half was controlled by Rose-Hulman as their offense continued to produce. Ogden was able to score her second goal of the match after an assist from Samantha Jacobs to put her team up 4-0. Maddy Twetten scored two goals late in the game to secure the win as the Fightin' Engineers defeat the Panthers with a final score of 6-0.
Rose-Hulman will host Trine University this Friday, September 7th at 7:30 PM.
