TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- Two Athletes on the Rose-Hulman women's soccer team have been recognized with ALL-HCAC awards. Senior defender Samantha Jacobs and junior forward Jessica Wells have both been chosen for 1st team ALL-HCAC for their performances in the 2018 season.
Jacobs has participated in 18 matches with 13 starts this season for the Engineers. She has recorded one goal, two assists, and four points this year offensively. Jacobs has received 1st team ALL-HCAC during her junior season in 2017 and Honorable Mention during her sophomore year in 2016. Jacobs was a key component of the defensive presence for Rose-Hulman helping record eight shutouts and only allowing 18 goals. She wraps up her career here playing 71 games with 66 starts and recording three goals, seven assists, and thirteen points.
Wells has participated in 18 matches this season with 17 starts. Wells had a phenomenal year leading the team in scoring with ten goals, ten assists, and thirty points in the 2018 season. She finished the regular season with the most assists by and individual in the HCAC and ranks third in the conference in individual point totals. She was named 1st team All-HCAC during her freshman and sophomore seasons and was named HCAC Freshman of the year in 2016.
Senior Lauren London received honorable mention from the conference. She ended the year with three goals, two assists, and eight points. She finishes her career with 50 starts after competing in 69 games for the Engineers. She has recorded nine goals, nine assists, and 27 points over the span of her time here at Rose-Hulman.
Rhiannon Turner also was recognized after being named to the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-HCAC Sportsmanship team.
