RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team improved to 8-2 on the season with a 6-3 win over previously undefeated Indiana University-East on Friday afternoon.

The Fightin' Engineers dropped the previously unbeaten squad to 5-1 after an early season that included a 7-2 win over Rose-Hulman's Heartland Conference foe Franklin College.

Rose-Hulman relied on a sweep of the top four singles and top two doubles flights to pick up the victory.  Anna Thompson and Naomi Bhagat earned a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles, while Bella Evans and Fanny-Jane Banda won at No. 2 doubles.

In singles action, Thompson, Evans, Bhagat and Banda each won at flights 1-4 respectively.

Rose-Hulman improved to 8-2 with its second win in consecutive games.  The Fightin' Engineers cap a busy stretch by hosting Earlham College in the final home match of the fall season on Saturday at 11 a.m.
