Women's Tennis Shuts Out Manchester; Moves to 4-1 in HCAC Play

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team improved to 4-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 9-0 shutout victory over Manchester University on Saturday at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.

Rose-Hulman opened the day with 8-2, 8-0 and 8-2 wins in doubles play.  Anna Thompson and Naomi Bhagat combined for the No. 1 doubles win; Kyla Jarvis and Linde Schaffer won at No. 2 doubles; and Betsy Richardson teamed with Krista Manche for the No. 3 doubles victory.

In singles play, Thompson, Bhagat and Jarvis won at the top three positions.  Schaffer, Beata Barati and Kai Faulk rounded out the winners as the Fightin' Engineers completed the sweep.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-1 on the season and hosts Hanover on Saturday and Franklin on Sunday as part of Homecoming weekend 2018.
