Women's Tennis Shuts Out Manchester to Clinch HCAC Tourney Bid

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team clinched a bid to the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 9-0 win over Manchester University on Thursday afternoon.

The Fightin' Engineers will compete on the first day of the 2019 HCAC Tournament against an opponent to be determined on Friday Oct. 18 at 6 pm at Top Seed Tennis Club.

Rose-Hulman relied on six players to earn the sweep at Manchester.  Singles winners included Naomi BhagatAnna ThompsonFanny-Jane BandaKyla JarvisKrista Manche; and Emma Goodman.  

In doubles play, winners included Bhagat and Thompson at No. 1; Banda and Jarvis at No. 2; and Goodman and Manche at No. 3.

Rose-Hulman stands 6-4 on the season and 4-2 in HCAC play, while Manchester dropped to 1-11 and 1-6 in conference matches.  The Fightin' Engineers conclude the 2019 regular season at Franklin College on Sunday at 1 pm (moved to Sunday due to rain).
