NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology advanced to the semifinal round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Franklin College on Friday night at Top Seed Tennis Club.

The Fightin' Engineers relied on a sweep of the three doubles matches to take the early lead.  Naomi Bhagat and Fanny-Jane Banda won 8-0 at the No. 1 doubles flight; Anna Thompson and Kyla Jarvis claimed an 8-3 victory at No. 2; and Krista Manche teamed with Emma Goodman for an 8-2 win at the No 3 flight.

In singles play, Banda won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and Thompson secured the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the No. 2 position.

Rose-Hulman improved to 8-4 on the season and will face No. 1 seed Anderson University in the semifinal round on Saturday at 1 pm.
