Curt Howard enters his 12th season on the Rose-Hulman men's and women's tennis coaching staff during the 2019-20 academic year.

Howard was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019.  He previously had more than 10 seasons of experience at Sullivan High School prior to serving on the Fightin' Engineer coaching staff.

Since joining Rose-Hulman, Howard has been part of teams that have reached five men's and two women's NCAA Division III Tournaments, marking the first NCAA trips in the history of Fightin' Engineer tennis.  His efforts on the women's side included serving as assistant coaching for the 2011 and 2017 teams that reached the NCAA Division III Tournament.  The women's squad has won double figures nine times in the last 11 years, in large part due to Howard's efforts.

On the men's side, Rose-Hulman has qualified for five consecutive NCAA Division III Tournaments and enters the 2020 season with a 47-match winning streak against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opposition.

Howard came to Rose-Hulman after an 11-year stint as head coach at Sullivan High School.  He earned honors as Conference Coach of the Year three times for the boys squad and five times for the girls squad at Sullivan.

Since Howard has joined the Fightin' Engineer coaching staff, Rose-Hulman has won five regular season conference titles in men's tennis and two league championships on the women's side.  The Fightin' Engineers have also made four NCAA Division III Men's Tournament appearances (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and two Women's Tournament appearances (2011, 2017).

Howard was named the Indiana Girls State Coach of the Year in 1997 and currently serves as a United States Professional Tennis Association instructor at the Wabash Valley Tennis Club in Terre Haute.
