Volleyball Improves to 6-2 with Saturday Sweep at RHIT Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 6-2 on the season with three-set victories over North Central and Illinois College at the Fightin' Engineer Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.

Rose-Hulman knocked North Central from the unbeaten ranks with a 26-24, 25-14, 25-13 victory in the opener.  Bailey MacInnis led the offense with 16 kills and two block assists.  Grace Beach added eight kills.  Alison Rogozinski had 16 assists, while Katie Orbeta added 15 for the Fightin' Engineer offense.

Defensively, Adekite Oladipupo led Rose-Hulman with 11 digs.  Mackenzie Gossard had one solo block and there block assists as part of the team defense.

In the nightcap, Rose-Hulman powered past Illinois College 25-17, 25-19, 25-11.  MacInnis and Oladipupo had 10 kills each, and the tandem of Rogozinski (19) and Orbeta (18) teamed up for 37 assists.  Gabi Razma recorded 28 digs in a match that featured playing time for all 16 Fightin' Engineer players.

Following the tournament, MacInnis earned a spot on the all-tournament team for the Rose-Hulman Invitational after helping the team finish 3-1 on the weekend.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the DePauw University Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  The Engineers open with Wheaton (Ill.) and DePauw on Sept. 15.
