Rose-Hulman Falls to No. 6 Trinity; HCAC Opener Set for Wednesday

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology completed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a tight three-set loss to No. 6 ranked Trinity (Texas) on Saturday at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational.

Trinity battled through a tough Rose-Hulman effort to earn the contested 25-23, 26-24, 25-20 victory.

Bailey MacInnis and Grace Beach led the Rose-Hulman offense with eight kills.  Marissa Gollnick added six kills and 11 digs to the performance.

Katie Orbeta recorded a team-high 29 assists and two service aces.  Katryna Dahlberg matched Orbeta with two aces and added 13 digs.

Maria Bruner led the front line defense with two solo blocks and one block assist.

Following the tournament, Orbeta was named to the all-Illinois Wesleyan Invitational Team for her efforts this weekend.

Rose-Hulman stands 10-8 entering its league schedule which begans Wednesday at Manchester.  Trinity improved to 12-4 on the season.
