TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team relied on a strong serve to sweep Anderson University in three sets on Wednesday night.
The Fightin' Engineers recorded a season-high 15 service aces and hit .347 for the match in a 25-17, 25-14, 25-16 victory. Adekite Oladipupo led the team with four service aces, Katryna Dahlberg and Marissa Gollnick added three each, and Sydney Griffith contributed a pair of aces to the performance.
Gollnick led Rose-Hulman with 10 kills and added nine digs. Bailey MacInnis added nine kills, Grace Beach had seven, Mia Styczynski contributed six, and Maria Bruner tallied five for the balanced offense.
Katie Orbeta had a team-high 39 assists, and Dahlberg led the team with 13 digs. Bruner paced the front row defense with two solo blocks and one block assists.
Rose-Hulman improved to 13-8 overall and 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while Anderson dropped to 9-10 and 1-1 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Bluffton University on Saturday to face the host Bluffton and nationally ranked Hope in a doubleheader.
