Volleyball Sweeps Franklin, Improves to 4-1 in HCAC Play

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Bailey MacInnis recorded 20 kills and junior Katie Orbeta tallied 35 assists to lead a 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Franklin College at Hulbert Arena on Wednesday night.

MacInnis hit at a .447 percentage with 20 kills and just three errors to lead the offense.  Marissa Gollnick and Grace Beach added six kills each.

Sydney Griffith recorded a match-high four service aces and served eight straight winning points during the opening set.  Orbeta helped close out set two with seven consecutive points late in the set on her serve.

Katryna Dahlberg led the defensive effort with 20 digs and four players had one block assist each.

Rose-Hulman improved to 14-10 and 4-1 in league play with the victory, while Franklin dropped to 8-13 and 1-3 in conference matches.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action next Wednesday at Mount St. Joseph.
