Women's Cross Country Finishes 3rd at Little State Meet

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's cross country recorded its best Little State finish in program history, placing third in the division at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships hosted by Purdue University on Friday.

Senior Camille Blaisdell led three top-20 finishers with a 10th-place finish in a six-kilometer time of 25:25.  Junior Kally Morozin was just behind, finishing 11th in 25:33.  Senior Emma Ross added a third top-20 finish by coming home 19th in 25:53.

Sophomore Rachel Shubella came home 24th in 26:14, and sophomore Mary Petersen rounded out the team score with a 28th place in 26:29.

The top seven runners also included Sarozjani Hunter in 37th (26:55) and Annelise Cassidy in 40th (27:06).

DePauw won the meet with 62 points.  NCAA Division II Indianapolis won a tiebreaker with Rose-Hulman for second as each team had 92 points.  Vincennes placed 4th with 104 points, followed by Earlham in 5th at 168.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at Millikin University on Sept. 29.
